چکیده

Quantitative enzyme studies (17a-hydroxylase, 17,20-desmolase, 21-hydroxylase, and 20a-hydrox-ydehydrogenase), using as a source of enzyme small fragments (25-48 rag) of estrogeninduced testicular interstitial cell (Leydig cell) tumors of mice and their first generation transplants in castrate male isogeneic hosts, show rather conclusively that such tumors are composed of heterogeneous populations of hormone-producing cells. Our data supported the original concept that, during tumor induction or shortly thereafter, several enzyme systems involved in steroid biosynthesis in Leydig cells decrease in an apparently random fashion. However, it appeared evident that at least in certain neoplastic interstitial cells the activity of 20a-hydroxydehydrogenase, an enzyme whose functional significance has not yet been clearly established, increased significantly.

P-145: Efficacy of Simvasiatin in The Prevention of Doxorubicin-Induced Testicular Morphometric-Stereological Alterations in Mice

Background: Doxorubicin (DOX), a widely used antineoplastic compound, is associated with testicular damage and infertility. In this study, we intended to determine the possible preventive effects of simvastatin (SIM), a lipid lowering agent with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, on testicular morphometric-stereological changes due to DOX treatment in mice. Materials and Methods: Mal...

P-88: Mast Cells Number and Distribution and Myoid Cells Population Are Impressed by Sulpiride Antipsychotic Drug

Background: Spermatogenesis is under the control of variety of factors, which include mast cells. Any changes in testicular mast cells’ number and distribution resulting in deterioration of comlex regulation and fine-turning of spermatogenesis. Increased number of mast cells and their abnormal spread pattern have been described in the testis with fertility disturbances. Mast cells’ tryptase enz...

P-7: Testosterone and Gonadotrophin Hormones Plasma Concentration-Induced Changes in Sertoli and Leydig Cells Number in Hyperprolactinemic Mature Male Mice

Background: Hyperprolactinemia is a particular concern in the treatment of schizophrenic patients. The side effects associated with high prolactin levels can have a negative impact on GnRH pulsatile secretion and, consequently LH, FSH and testosterone pulsatility and follows by, on special testicular cells that have these hormon’s receptors such as sertoli and leydig cells. Quantification the d...
